Situated in Northern Tuscany - Italy, the town of Lucca is regarded as one of Italy's medieval treasures.
The town itself is surrounded by hills, which provide a breathtaking backdrop and produce some excellent wines and arguably the finest olive oil anywhere.
This is a real pleasant city to live in: its historical centre is not only rich in monuments, picturesque squares, medieval palaces and interesting museums, but also in shops and elegant boutiques that remind Lucca’s ancient merchant past.
There are plenty of places to visit in the region including villas such as Villa Reale and Villa Grabau both of which have a long history and beautiful gardens.
Lucca also has a large range of restaurants, bars and cafes where the local cuisine and wine can be sampled.
